book-of-the-year-2013-top-fiveAfter WANT and SHRAPNEL, but before SHELF LIFE, I released an odd and substantial novel–an adult companion to WANT–appropriately called NEED.

It picks up about three months after the end of WANT and is told from Isaac’s POV. Readers had been asking me for his story, but like many follow-ups, it didn’t go the way all readers had hoped. Still, I had to tell the story the way it came to me.

Need.v4-finalIt’s heavily psychological and was very intense to write, so I’m pleased to announce that it’s won an award from Supportive Business Mums over in the UK, placing third for Best Women’s Fiction Book of the Year 2013!

They called it “explosive” and a “fantastically well written, thoroughly gripping story.”

At NASW I described it to readers as the extremely adult, extremely sexy, dirty follow-up to WANT. 🙂

Either way, I’m so grateful to Ces for not only the award, but for reviewing NEED earlier this year when it debuted. I have a soft spot for poor Ike and love that others “get” him too, so big hugs, Ces!
