Another week, another Sunday dear Sixers! Below is an excerpt from a current adult project, the same one I posted from last week. Sorry it’s not more gritty, but have to carefully avoid using names or spoilers. 🙂
Anyway:
She knocks back the rest of her drink and holds out her glass for more. While I pour, she says, “I do hate to throw another platitude at you, but success really is the best revenge, and there’s nothing I’d love more than to see you stick it to Mama. Figuratively, of course.”
“Oh, God, that’s not even funny.”
“I know. Sorry.
Ew! Thanks for stopping by, and as always, please visit some of the other participants in Six Sentence Sunday. Have a great week!

LOL, great humor here! You have the pacing down just right for it!
So glad she added the “figuratively” part! Do NOT want to see a scene like that! Ha ha
It’s not what (who) you think 😉
She’s giving him a hard time. Is there a lot of hurt hidden away there about Mama?
Definitely! (And no, they are NOT siblings!)
Funny! The things people say when they’ve had a few.
LOL! Maybe he was drunk .. maybe he was sober 😉 We’ll see …
This snippet really makes me want to know more. The exchange was both funny and intense, a really good combination! Well done!
It doesn’t have to be gritty to be good and this is good. Nice look at the dialogue and the dynamic of your characters. Happy to see more from this!
Hmm…verrrrry interesting. I’m trying to picture in my head how this fits with what i think I know…which is probably nothing. LOL
